Roadrunner loves to celebrate our drivers and we had so much to celebrate this year during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (NTDAW)!

From Sept. 12 through Sept. 18, we planned special events and awards for our hard working drivers that have spent the last year keeping things running for our country. At our service centers, we had snacks available for drivers to grab and go throughout the week. We also hosted a Breakfast of Champions and our Big ol’ Lunch gathering!

On Thursday, we held our Driver of the Year award ceremony at our headquarters in Mt. Juliet, TN. This year's winners — nominated by Roadrunner leadership and evaluated on safety, performance and professionalism — are line haul driver David Lopez from Las Vegas, NV, and local driver Corinthian Lynon from Houston, TX.

"David and Corinthian embody everything that makes America great, they are not just drivers, but entrepreneurs, small business owners and excellent partners for Roadrunner,” Executive Chairman Chris Jamroz said. “Their leadership and hard work keep America's economy moving.”

Corinthian was recognized for his outstanding customer service and David was recognized for his mentorship to new drivers and his contributions to Roadrunner’s culture of empowerment and appreciation. Our Drivers of the Year were awarded $500 and a signed NASCAR tire. The first and second runners up also received a signed NASCAR tire.
