Be The Boss with Roadrunner Freight’s Lease Purchase Program

After driving for nearly 25 years, John McClain (the driver, not the Die Hard character) is ready to retire. At 68-years-old, McClain plans to get a truck paid for and have another driver take the wheel.
Luckily, he joined Roadrunner’s lease-purchase program, which made his dream possible.
“I’ve done all kinds of driving -- in the oil field and over the road,” McClain said. “I’ve never found anybody I like better than Roadrunner.”
When you lease your equipment with Roadrunner Freight, there is zero down and zero payments for 60 days. Whether you’re looking for a brand-new truck or an older model to fit your budget, you can be the boss.
McClain chose a 2016 Volvo.
“I actually came here for the lease-purchase program,” he said. “I like this.”
McClain and other CDL-A drivers like him who partner with Roadrunner chose their own loads, routes and home time. Our lease-purchase model was designed to give drivers flexibility, stability and support -- the way it should be.
“Before I found Roadrunner, my experience in the trucking industry wasn’t all that great,” fellow Roadrunner Lease Purchase driver Mathew Marvin said. “For the first two and a half years I really struggled.”
By year three, Marvin quit trucking and swore he wouldn’t return. He began driving for ridesharing apps. But about a year after he left trucking, COVID-19 hit the U.S. and forced Marvin back into the industry. He found his footing when he transferred to Roadrunner and joined the lease-purchase program.
“Working at Roadrunner really helped me find my passion for the trucking industry again,” Marvin said. “Without Roadrunner, I’d be miserable.”
